Ayurvedic Formula

Ayurveda is a Sanskrit word meaning the science or wisdom of life. This holistic healing system evolved in India about 2500 years ago and teaches of three basic energies or doshas - kapha, vata and pitta - that exist in everything in the universe and influence all mental and physical processes.

We are all born with a particular balance of these doshas. Each person has a dominant dosha and our body type, temperament, and susceptibility to illnesses are largely governed by this predominant dosha. The purpose of Ayurveda is to strike a harmonious balance between the three doshas to achieve harmony between mind and body and maintain a state of wellbeing.

Ayurvedic Formula product range contains herbal blends based upon ancient Ayurvedic recipes and principles to help restore balance to the mind and body.

Vata, meaning wind, reflects the ever-changing moods of the Vata type. Vata types are considered to be the imaginative, excitable and great visionaries. When out of balanced they tend to be restless, indecisive, depressed and overly talkative.

Vatas prefer warm climates, food, and drink, and may become especially moody and anxious if they miss a meal. Lacking endurance, Vatas often need time to recuperate; they thrive on healing massage and total relaxation. A regular schedule can help dispel their anxieties and promote inner harmony.

To balance the Vata Types we have used the aroma of sandalwood, jasmine and bergamot which help to ground, balance and warm the Vata dosha. Vata products are especially good for promoting circulation and preventing autumn and early winter colds. Whole Earth Herbs Vata products are formulated to ground, balance, and warm the Vata dosha.

Kapha people like the earth and water tend to be stable and more grounded than any other Ayurvedic type. When balanced, they are as solid and centered as a mountain -- consistent, calm, patient, peaceful and compassionate but when unbalanced they can be greedy, materialistic and the ultimate couch potato.

Kapha types gain weight easily and are usually well-nourished and healthy. Once they learn something, they seldom forget it. Their friendly, open dispositions make them excellent managers, but their stable natures can lead to mental and emotional dullness. Kapha types benefit from pungent and reviving scents that break up their natural inclination towards lethargy.

To keep Kaphas balanced, we have blended Grapefruit, Ginger, Basil, and Lemongrass. These invigorating and heating herbs help to restore the body and mind when the Kapha dosha is out of balance. Kapha products are formulated to uplift, invigorate, and stimulate the Kapha dosha.

Like fire, Pitta people are highly energetic, dynamic, and passionate and the most intelligent among the three types but when unbalanced they can become destructive, frustrated, aggressive and hateful.

The Pitta body is usually of average build and good proportion. Pittas usually prefer cool climates, food, and drink, and often have hearty appetites. When well fed and content, their natural heat creates courage and clarity. Pitta people need cool, sweet-smelling scents to keep the mind calm, cool, and balanced.
